Error: MSOW caused an invalid page fault (due to NORMAL.DOT corrupt).
Error:
MSOW caused an invalid page fault.
Cause:
The document is being opened in Word and the NORMAL.DOT template that Word uses to establish default styles, macros, key assignments, menus items, tool bar choices, glossaries, and boilerplate text is corrupted. A corrupt NORMAL.DOT file causes problems with all opened documents.
Solution:
Exit Office and rename NORMAL.DOT to revert back to the default NORMAL.DOT settings.
1) Exit all Office applications.
2) Search for NORMAL.DOT using the Windows 95 Find feature:
a) Click 'Start' todisplay the Windows 'Start' menu.

b) Select 'Find'.
c) Select 'Files or Folders...'.
d) Pull down the drop-down list in the 'Look In' box.
e) Type NORMAL.DOT in the 'Named' box.
f) Select the 'Include all subfolders' check box.
g) Click 'Find Now'. (The NORMAL.DOT file appears in the find results window.)
3) Rename the file:
a) Right-click on the NORMAL.DOT file in the find results window. (A Shortcut menu appears.)
b) Select 'Rename' from the popup menu.
c) Type a new name.
4) Restart Office and Word.
